During the past 10 years, his specialized representation has focused on the alternative asset management industry. Marc provides advisory support to numerous groups including hedge funds, fund-of-funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, and commodity pool operators. Marc represents these clients in corporate transactions including financings, mergers and acquisitions, contractual matters, corporate formation, as well as structure and governance, including select SEC enforcement actions and investigations involving hedge funds, mutual fund market timing, and late trading. Marc also oversees the firm’s buy-side practice, which represents investors in alternative asset managers and the funds they manage.

After leaving the Schoenbach firm in 1999, Marc opened his solo practice to focus on securities and corporate finance matters. Marc continued as a Wall Street attorney, serving the needs of boutique financial service providers, small private placement issuers and investors until 2001, when he and partner, Joe Tagliaferro launched the current firm.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Marc obtained practical experience in finance at Lehman Brothers (New York and American Stock Exchanges, and institutional sales trading desk in Lehman’s Worldwide Equities Group).

Marc has served as lead counsel in various matters and transactions that have been covered by national publications including the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair and the Chicago Tribune, and has been a featured speaker on international financial news network reports on global markets and the U.S. economy. He is regularly quoted by industry publications on issues impacting the hedge fund industry.
